Then, she had me perform the following steps: The person at Cricut help first confirmed that I had the adapter installed in Clamp A, then checked that the stylus was pressed down far enough (so the arrow on the stylus was hidden by the adapter). "Today I finally was frustrated enough with this problem, and had enough time, so I phoned Cricut help about this - and they solved my problem, so I wanted to share the solution with everyone who had similar concerns. Was scouring the internet for solutions to this same issue and stumbled upon the thread below. And BAM! Now we are not having any issues scoring!Īnyway, I hope this helps someone else out there having the same problems as us, especially all those Christmas cards we are all punching out right now! :) I wrapping some tape(10mm width) around the stylus, over the arrow and under the line, just enough so I can still 'click' it in but once in it doesn't wiggle in the tool holder, it was a very firm fit for me. ![]() Down at the tip it wouldn't move much though so initially I thought it would be ok but tried to fix it and see if it did make a difference. Watching it you could see a lot of movement, especially scoring straight down (where the mat moves and the stylus stays at the same position. So the Engineer in me watched a couple of runs and noticed something: even when 'clicked' in the stylus still had a lot of movement, you could easily wiggle it back and forth. We have had so many issues with this on our brand new Maker 3 and did a lot of searching to find many people report never having much success with the Scoring Stylus and to just use the wheel. ![]() Only normal 80gsm paper or less seemed to not rip, anything thicker would always tear.
